The MRC provides adult learners with academic support needed to succeed in their transition into meaningful employment or further educational training. This program is designed to educate and increase employment opportunities and economic self-sufficiency.
English Language Classes
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Offers Basic, Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced Classes of ESOL. This program provides free English classes to adult learners whose native language is not English. Classes focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar and conversation. The ESOL program prepares students to develop proficient language skills required to communicate effectively in the community, in the workplace and in their daily lives. They can use this proficiency for entering college, job training and career advancement.
U.S. Citizenship Preparation Classes
The Citizenship Preparation Classes (USCPC)
The Citizenship Preparation Classes (USCPC) are focused towards assisting clients navigating the naturalization process, understanding the rights and responsibilities of an American Citizen, passing their English, civics, reading, and writing tests, being successful in the naturalization interview, and enhancing their reading and writing skills. Several cycles are offered per year with a schedule to be determined.
Computer Classes
Basic Computer Literacy (BCL)
The Basic Computer Literacy course (BCL) is designed to provide students with basic knowledge of computer principles, hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and an introduction to the Internet and Web browsers. These skills will enable students to use computer equipment and programs in their study and work.
